Writing Center- the craft of writing

The following should be located at your writing center: writer’s notebook- something in a binder, writing folder, and writer’s toolbox (shoe box). Located on the outside of the writer’s toolbox are illustrations of tools with the title, “writing under construction” or “writing in process.” The box should contain personal notes and created pieces. A list of interesting topics should be kept in the box under the divided sections. The writer’s toolbox should be kept in a special place in the classroom, possibly on a shelf. Students should be able to refer to posters or anchor charts throughout the classroom, when beginning writing workshop.
