Quote from the movie, So Dear To My Heart

The greatest wealth a man may acquire is the wisdom he gains from living. And, sometimes out of the small beginnings come the forces that shape a whole life. Memory renews our joys. May life bear for you its sweetest flowers.

Moms are worth so much

I’ll always need my Mom, no matter what age I am. My Mom has made me laugh, hugged me tight, seen me fall, cheered me on, and kept me going strong.

Get Organized!

We found something similar to store my nephew’s toys in. You can find a nice room organizer at Costco! The piece of furniture comes with fabric storage bins! I have also been informed that you can find these Fabric Bins (pictured below) at The Dollar Tree for just a buck a piece! Now, my nephew can easily pick out a toy to play with. And, I can store them neatly away.

I Love Thrift Stores!

I love to check the children’s book section for treasures. You really can’t go wrong! The thrift store is the way to go. I have found so many great books that I’m literally running out of space to store them.

Uplifting message I read

hey you.

yes, you. stop being unhappy with yourself. you are perfect.

stop wishing you looked like someone else or wishing people liked you as much as they like someone else.

stop trying to get attention from those who hurt you. stop hating your body, your face, your personality, your quirks. love them.

without those things you wouldn’t be you. and why would you want to be anyone else? be confident with who you are.

smile. it’ll draw people in. my happiness will not depend on others anymore. i’m happy because i love who i am. i love my flaws.

i love my imperfections. they make me me. and ‘me’ is pretty amazing.

Have you seen these, yet?

How Many Mini Pocket Charts Did You Buy?

Dollar Spot pocket charts! I found the pocket charts with the dry-erase board at Target, today, for $2.50 each, and I can’t wait to use them! I plan on using the Desktop Pocket Chart Stands at Word Work. I also found some pocket chart schedulers for $1.00 each. You can use these mini pocket charts in your literacy and math centers!

Today I Will Make a Difference

Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving. Today I will make a difference.

I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It’s OK to stumble… . I will get up. It’s OK to fail… . I will rise again. Today I will make a difference.

I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.

Today I will make a difference.
